Photos through the years…

At a dance at the YMCA in Mesa, AZ. I’m on bass. This was probably in the 1969 timeframe. I’m sitting in with the band I was managing, The Crystal Wall. Mike Foley on drums; Mike Clements on guitar; Bill Christoph on guitar; Craig Summers on bass and Jim Johnston on organ.
Playing drums with Dean & The Dropouts at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. We would “drop in”, as in, invite ourselves to play at the college picnics.

This is a band I quickly put together for a Faculty Follies show at Mountain View High School where I was teaching. The bands name was Tom & The Teachers (not my idea). That’s Kevin Dressler (drama) Curt Canaday (physics), Keith Canham (physics) and myself (business and computers). Keith eventually purchased my Chet Atkins Tennessean years later.
Me around 1975 messing around on piano. I was living at Bill Christoph’s house, having just gotten out of the Army and going to Mesa Community College. Probably playing some Cat Stevens. Bill and I played a lot of music in that house.
Crystal Wall (revisited). We co-opted the name and played at a 40-year reunion of the Class of ‘69. Me, Bill Guerriero, Mike Clements, Mike Foley and Terry Keel. The two Mikes were original members and I managed the original group.
Here’s a cool photo of Bill Christoph and me in the 70s or early 80s in Fallon, NV recording Hurt So Good for fun.

We keep getting invited to play at the Laveen BBQ Festival. This is one of about ten appearances. The festival is the oldest continuous BBQ festival in Arizona. It’s always fun playing for a few thousand people and enjoying great food.

Dr. Ron & The Painkillers played at the locally famous Pinecroft Neighborhood Tour. The popular event took place at Encanto Park in Phoenix, AZ. An artist friend, Chris Manzanares, took some great photos. I later sold that Ric 4-string bass and bought a Ric 5-string.

Late 1969 or early 1970. That’s Mike Fish on bass. We were at the Seton High School Battle of the Bands. We had two lady singers, Mike Clements was on lead guitar, and Ned Shumard on drums. I think we got second place. Should have won based on outfits.
